People biking and walking may experience closures and detours as well; visit the E Line project page and sign up for the ELine Update to stay on top of construction.

The new, multimodal design improves space for people to: walk, ride transit, bike, and drive. Hennepin Avenue in Uptown is where the METRO E Line arterial bus rapid transit (BRT) will open in late 2025. The E Line will substantially replace Route 6. The 13.3-mile E Line connects Southdale, Linden Hills, Uptown, Downtown, Marcy-Holmes, and the University of Minnesota.

The completion of a transportation infrastructure project can mean easier access, enhanced transportation options, enhanced safety, and more opportunity for businesses. The lengthy project planning and interruptive construction period, however, often makes that vision difficult to see.

Residents, commuters, and businesses experience challenges during the planning and construction of transportation infrastructure projects near their locations. Being informed and having a voice is vital to navigate the building process so that the ribbon-cutting ceremony is a joyous celebration.
