September 22nd is Car Free Day!

  a

World Car-Free Day is celebrated in over 1,500 cities around the world as a day to imagine transportation without being dependent on the automobile. Minneapolis joined the celebration in 2016 when nearly 1,800 downtown commuters pledged to go “car-free” for a day. Today’s workforce is moving away from the stressful, congested, carbon-heavy mindset of drive-alone commuting. The Twin Cities offer options for a better, faster, less-expensive commute.

Minneapolis celebrated Car-Free on Thursday, September 19th, 2019 that culminated in a celebration on Peavey Plaza with our transportation partners, and a scooter and e-bike demonstration by Lyft & Nice Ride.
