About Us

Move Minneapolis – Transportation Management Organization (TMO) is a 501(c)4 non-profit organization founded in 1991. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors and has programmatic partnerships with the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MnDOT and Metro Transit.

Move Minneapolis┬ápromotes sustainable transportation – mass transit, carpooling, car-sharing, biking and walking – through an outreach and education program that targets downtown workers, residents, and visitors. Our programs demystify transportation alternatives and encourage commuters to take advantage of our region’s growing sustainable transportation options. Give us a call to see what we can do for your company or building, or stop by to see us at the corner of 5th Street and Nicollet Mall in the Minneapolis Visitor Center (MVI) for a free, personal transportation consultation, to register for a carpool, or to learn about our programs for downtown companies.

Move Minneapolis is made possible by a federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant in partnership with the United States Department of Transportation, the Metropolitan Council, the City of Minneapolis and the Downtown community.
