What if you could call a ride on an app for “door-to-door” service without Uber or Lyft prices?  In many parts of the Twin Cities you can.  Microtransit has arrived at all five transit authorities including the communities like Eden Prairie, Burnsville, Maple Grove, Eagan, North Minneapolis and many more. Book a ride on an app, key in your destination, and a minibus will make a curbside pick-up in a matter of minutes. Rides cost only $2 – $5 per trip.

Microtransit entered the region in 2015 when SouthWest Prime started service in Eden Prairie. Minibuses now crisscross 16 different communities, from suburbs like Osseo to densely populated neighborhoods in North Minneapolis. And Minnesota Valley Transit Authority has just added their first all-electric 18 passenger minibus to their fleet. This is a very exciting time for microtransit.
